Reentry Program

CBI’s Reentry Program is designed to help people in prison connect with reentry agencies during the difficult transition from prison to society. By doing so, we hope to assist those preparing for reentry secure housing, locate a church and find a job. If people released from prison can "get established," their chances of returning to a life of crime drastically decreases.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
1.	A person in prison makes an initial contact with CBI requesting reentry assistance.
2.	CBI sends the individual an informational letter explaining the reentry program and the process for receiving assistance along with a Reentry Profile Questionnaire.
3.	The person in prison fills out the Reentry Profile Questionnaire and sends it back to CBI with his/her expected release date, location and other helpful information. CBI goes to work researching and investigating prospective reentry ministries.
4.	When a suitable reentry ministry or agency is located, CBI sends the person in prison a letter with information about the recommended agency.
5.	If the program seems fit to the individual, he/she writes to the agency and indicates interest in participating.
6.	If the person being released is a CBI student we can help them get accepted into the reentry program by writing letters of recommendation based on our detailed student records upon his/her request.
7.	Upon release, the individual receives all the help he/she needs to stay on the right path during this vital transition.
