The Crossroad Inmate Art Gallery at CBI headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan honors students who produce inspiring artwork despite the challenges imposed by prison bars.
For years, out of their own initiative, CBI students sent art along with their completed lessons. The Crossroad Journal of the Arts was developed in 1999 to share that artwork, as well as student poetry, with all CBI students and constituents. CBI established the Crossroad Inmate Art Gallery in September 2009 to further showcase students' artistic accomplishments, offer visitors a more complete vision of those in prison and encourage unity within the body of Christ, which encompasses artists and viewers alike.
Gallery tours are available for church, school and community groups. Visiting groups enjoy refreshments, a presentation about inmate art, a tour of the lesson processing center and a gallery viewing. Contact the CBI offices to schedule a visit for your group today!
The gallery is open to the public during regular office hours.
