The CBI program operates in the two main prison houses of Ecuador, where dismal prison conditions plague both prisoners and the many children who, without anywhere else to go, must accompany their parents to prison and withstand the same harsh environment. Director Angel Aguirre Villamar, well acquainted with the prison conditions due to his own incarceration for drug activity as a young man, leads the CBI students through the curriculum with the assistance of Instructors.
I love being a CBI Instructor because the prisoners are people who have been forgotten and marginalized, but God loves them, and they need to know the Word. I serve the Lord in this way because of love for God and the prisoners.
